A friend of mine ( a composition major) is interested in writing a latin tune in 5. He asked me for some assitance in trying to figure out clave and how the montunos would work and all that. If any of you have suggestions of how to put clave into 5 so it still grooves, OR if you know of any latin tunes that are done in 5. Anything at all that may help, cuz I am stumped.
Thanks

Long time ago I posted some ideas of claves and cascaras in odd times that may help you. I think one is in 5.

I've heard some outrageously funky latin versions of Take 5. That would be a good framework to start from. Never learned who the players are, or what the recordings are. Try a google search for latin take 5.
